The entrance to the Minnesota Museum of Mining is easily found as you enter our city. Just head for the water tower and the stone turrets at te top of Main Street.
The Museum's castle was built in 1933 as one of Chisholm's WPA projects and was originally designed as a part of an athletic complex. More than 30,000 tons of hand-chipped, surface rock were used to construct the castle, 12 stone tourist cabins, the Field House and a large stone wall that encloses the 19 acre park.
